USES:   Zirconium powder is used as a reactant in the manufacturing of explosives,
fuses and primers for the pyrotechnic industry. It is also used as a de-oxidizer in metallurgy industry;
as a getter in vacuum tubes; in constructing rayon spinnerets in lamp filaments and
flash bulbs. |

HANDLING:   Keep away from heat sources, flames and sparks.
Use grounding cables on all transferring equipment to avoid sudden ignition by
electrostatic discharge; self-ignition is possible. Vacuum drying of the
suspension IS NOT recommended. In case of fire cover with sand, limestone,
or use a class D fire extinguisher. DO NOT USE WATER. OSHA PEL and ACGIH TLV-TWA have been established at 5mg/
m3. See MSDS for additional information. |
