USES:Barium Carbonate is used as an ingredient of optical glass, porcelain enamel frit and ceramic glazes. It is used in the manufacture of various barium compounds including Barium Nitrate, Barium Oxide, Barium Hydrate, Barium Chromate, Barium Peroxide and Barium Titanate. It is also used by the chemical industry in removing sulfuric acid from liquids.


HANDLING: Avoid contact with acids – large quantities of CO2 will be evolved. Reseal containers immediately after use. Store away from food and beverages. Use dust respirator when handling. OSHA PEL & ACGIH TLV-TWA have been established for this compound at 0.5 mg/m3 as Ba. This product may be subject to SARA Section 313 reporting requirements (Ba 69.59%).
