USES: Cupric Oxide is used for glass manufacture, ceramics, optical polishing agent, production of flares, dry cell batteries and copper salt production. It can also used for Welding fluxes for bronze and as an exciter in phosphor mixtures. Moderate oral toxicity.
HANDLING: Avoid inhalation and ingestion. Moderate oral toxicity. Avoid getting into eyes or onto skin. There is no exposure limits (OSHA or ACGIH) for cupric oxide; however, the exposure level for finely divided copper is 1mg/m3. This product may be subject to SARA 313 reporting requirements (Cu 79.88%). See SDS for more information.
