USES: Magnesium powder is an alkaline earth metal produced in a variety of forms for use in flash bulbs, flares, recovery of titanium, dry cell batteries, optical mirrors, precision instruments and as a thermite mixture igniter.


HANDLING: Ground all handling and transfer operation involving magnesium powders. Avoid dusting of powders. Store in DOT approved containers. No smoking. Keep container sealed and dry. In case of fire use a class D type fire extinguisher. Do not use water. Water in contact with magnesium produces hydrogen gas and may cause an explosion. Flammable solid, hazardous substance. Since no exposure limit has been established by OSHA and ACGIH, we recommend that our product should be treated as a nuisance dust 15mg/m3. See SDS for more information.
